Riff Memos: Stephen Taranto

Introduction

Some musicians have more riffs than they know what to do with. From exceptional improv solos to beautifully crafted chord progressions, many of our artists have fantastic ideas that are put to video, posted online, and simply fade into obscurity. Perhaps they'll get their due and end up in a song worthy of their excellence, but more often than not, they're doomed to the chronological wilderness of social media. Well, we at Sheet Happens won't stand for another lost piece of guitar genius. This column is dedicated to excavating the lost riffs of the internet, and preserving them for generations to come.

In our inaugural Riff Memos column, we're featuring a solo from Stephen Taranto, posted to Instagram June 12, 2019. This is an adventurous little section in which Stephen does what he does best, which is rip flawlessly. Check out the video below, and if you’re feeling up to the challenge, grab the free tabs here!
